Do My Numbers is free to use. It has no ads, sponsored placements or affiliate links yet. They are how we plan to pay for it, and this page says plainly how they will work.
Ads
Ads will appear below the calculators, between article sections and in the side column on wide screens. Each one will carry a small “Advertisement” label. There will be no pop-ups, no ads that cover the page, and no ads above an answer or inside a calculator. We won’t choose individual ads; the ad network will. The trust pages, including this one, will carry no ads.
Sponsored placements
Some pages may later show a sponsored panel. It will be labelled as sponsored, kept apart from the calculator and its result, and the sponsor will have no say over the calculator, its numbers or the article.
Affiliate links
Some links may later go to services that pay us if you sign up or open an account. We will only use affiliates that fit an education site: fee-only financial advisers, and generic account types such as IRAs or high-yield savings. An affiliate link will be marked as one next to the link itself.
Affiliate links will never be chosen from your result. A calculator does not look at the numbers you enter and then show an offer, and nothing on the site says that a product suits you.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell annuities or pass anyone’s details to annuity sellers. The annuity calculator explains how annuities are valued; it doesn’t pitch one.
- We don’t collect contact details for sales leads. There is no form to fill in.
- Payment from an advertiser or affiliate never changes a formula, a default, a data source or what a page says.
